|Beer: The Experience||
I have been staring at this beer on the shelves since the fall and have yet to bite. I suppose that I may have waited too long. If the label read "Ginger Pilsner" I would be on the edge of my seat drinking it. The pumpkin is nearly nonexistent. Maybe fresh it would have been more prominent? In no way is this a bad beer. I think I just had my expectations up for a mid winter pumpkin explosion.
It boasts a blonde hue with a nice, nearly translucent haze. The nose is all the overt spiciness of the ginger marrying the sharp aromatics of Saaz hops. The taste matches the nose in every way making for a well balanced sip. The only downfall is the strong ginger finish. I would like more sweetness to balance it out.
All in all a nice beer which I would love to have again when it hits shelves this year. As I continue to sip it grows on me. Who knows, it could make the top 10 of the second
