|Beer: The Experience||
I have just surpassed the three month mark on my beer drinking voyage and I am just about six days ahead of pace thanks in large part to last week's NYC Craft Beer Festival. It has been quite an interesting year thus far. I have been lucky enough to drink some really great beer, many of which were limited releases and most of which I would have never purchased had I not been attempting this Experience. Roughly thirty percent of the 306 new beers that I have consumed I wouldn't drink again. They will stay unnamed at this point.
I cannot say that I am surprised that I have stayed on track so far. What does surprise me, however, is that my body is holding up through all of it. I guess it's because I don't drink every night and I stay very active. Mostly though, I think it is because of how happy I am doing it. I have foregone the standard "I love beer" and graduated it to "I live beer." As the banner on my logo says "Beer. Life."
I also must extend a ton of gratitude to those around me for supporting this idea. The guys have been going out of their way to bring new, interesting beers to Beer Nights and have tried to start doing random bottle shares during the week. Due to this, I have been able to not only try more beer without breaking the bank but I have been able to share mine with them and allow them to become a part of the Experience.
It is as humbling as it is exciting to have such great people around to support and promote an idea that many would be quick to think of as worthless. At this point, the acknowledgement pages of my book will be longer than the actual story. For now though, they will remain unnamed but they all know who they are.
Saturday afternoon is calling my name as the beer in my refrigerator begs to be opened.
Please continue to follow The Experience. I assure you all that I will not fail.
Godspeed and Cheers.
